Saturday at 5:00 pm — Northern California Public Media Stage

“California Trad Jazz & more. No trumpet required.”

For the past 10 years the Sonoma County-based group, The King Street Giants, have brought their own special version of New Orleans music to the Bay Area. Whether they’re playing in clubs or on the streets, The King Street Giants are infamous for radiating an infectious energy and always having a blast. While continuing to play the music of their heroes (Louis Armstrong & The All Stars, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Thelonious Monk, Vulfpeck), they have also been writing original music in an effort to continue to evolve the idiom of Traditional New Orleans Jazz. Winners of the North Bay Bohemian’s “Best of” Best Band in Sonoma County award in 2017, as well as Best Jazz Band in 2022 and 2014, The King Street Giants released their 3rd studio album, 4th in total, on August 3rd, 2020. Titled “Everything Must Go”, the album features 11 original songs written by the band, including their first ever original vocal tunes.
