Just kidding! There are waaaay more than 10 tasty treats at the Gravenstein Apple Fair, happening on August 12 – 13, 2023. There’s no way to rank the food items at the Fair because they’re all so good. But here’s a highlight reel of the incredible treats available at the Fair. Ready for your mouth to water? Read on.

No. 10 – Grab a Grav!

Fresh Gravenstein Apples, the Fair’s namesake variety, right off the tree. Gravs as they’re affectionately known in Sonoma County are a shot of sweet and tart summer in a beautiful green package, dappled with red. You can find fresh Gravs in all their glory, whether as sauce, juice or whole at Apple Alley – the place where all things apple can be found at the Fair. No. 9 – Creative Combos
Mac & Cheese with Barbecued Apples. That’s right, the Fair’s heirloom apple is served up in everyone’s favorite comfort dish, Mac & Cheese, making it “apple-icious.” Bayou on the Bay combines fresh pasta, local cheese and some barbecued Gravs – how can you go wrong?
If you’re a vegan, have no fear as Goatlandia Farms, a 100% plant-based caterer will tempt you with their “Goat in the Garden Bowl” made with quinoa, brown rice, a variety of veggies, topped with their turmeric hippie drizzle or sample their Fried Chick’n sandwich with a side of apple and jalapeno slaw.
No. 8 – You Scream, I Scream, it’s Time for Sonoma Ice Cream

Sweet and melty ice cream made with Sonoma County dairy products. What’s better on a hot August day than cold, homemade ice cream? Not much! Enjoy Sebastopol fan favorite, Screamin’ Mimi’s ice cream including ice cream sandwiches and a special apple crisp flavor, just for fairgoers. Or if you’re in the mood for delicious milk shakes and soft serve ice cream made of organic cream from Jersey cows, head to Valley Ford Creamery.
No. 7 – Savory Favorites

Not a big fan of sweets? More of a savory type? Get your burger on at Sonoma Burger with tasty “smash” burgers and hot dogs made from grass-fed Sonoma County beef.
Or maybe you’re a fan of delicious seasonal fare. Then the creative combinations of local, fresh ingredients from Hopmonk may be just the ticket. Menu items include sandwiches, protein bowls, and shareables like Bavarian pretzels, and addictive garlic or Fire fries.
No. 6 – Global Cuisine

How about trying international cuisine? Yes, the Fair has a variety of dining options from around the world. If traditional Bulgarian food infused with Mediterranean flavors sounds like heaven, head to Mommys Yummys where you can find falafel and gyros.
Love banh mi or curry to go or Korean beef tacos? Then add Joy’s Jam Bungalow to your list of Fair fare.
No. 5 – More Global Options
More food with international flair! If poke is your thing, swing by Poke a Go Go where you can get poke bowls and sushi tacos. Or if teriyaki is on your list, visit Sonoma Teriyaki where you’ll find everybody’s fave, chicken teriyaki but also a variety of vegetarian options including fried zucchini. It’s a great way to eat your vegetables!
Maybe Mexican food is what you’re yearning for. If so, Tacos Don Pepe will satisfy with their traditional and vegan takes on tacos made with handmade tortillas, quesabirria, and agua fresca.
No. 4 – Refreshing Beverages
If you need non-alcoholic beverages to keep you going as you tour the many delights of the Fair, there’s an array of choices to keep you on track. Caffeine junkie or just a fan of good vegan pastry treats, Sunshine Coffee Roasters fits the bill.
Can’t make it without Boba tea? Not a problem – Bubbles Boba Tea has you covered with a vareity of milk teas.
Love lemons? You can get lemonade by the yard as well as iced tea at, where else, The Lemonade Yard.
If it’s really hot, or even if it isn’t, Kona Ice is the Fair location for refreshing shaved ice.
No. 3 – Not-so-Sweet Treats

Still looking for some savory selections? How about a Black Pig bacon BLT or Kimchee fries? Black Piglet is the place to be if you want pork products sourced from sustainably raised local pigs that always roam free.
Could be that soul food is what you’re up for – think BBQ ribs and chicken, or Cajun chicken sandwiches with Cajun coleslaw, all made from family recipes – then make your way to Saucy Mama’s.
If you’re craving familiar fair food with a gourmet twist, then run don’t walk to Gourmet Faire where you’ll find crab roll sandwiches, homemade corn dogs, beer battered garlic fries, crab garlic fries, and chicken tenders (regular or Nashville Hot).
No. 2 – Sonoma-Style Snacks
Down-to-earth foodie seeking farm-to-table snack food. If that describes you and you’re all about corn – kettle corn, that is – then be sure to follow your nose to Just Popped Kettle Corn where you’ll find Gold Medal apple, caramel, and caramel apple kettle corn flavors.
Perhaps you’re a chocolate lover (and who isn’t?), then visit Sonoma Chocolatiers to get your hands on artisanal chocolate, chocolate drinks, and other delicious treats.
No. 1 – Even More Global Flavors
We can’t finish this list without mentioning our last group of delicious international offerings. With so much global fare, we had to break the choices into three groups. Feel like authentic Greek food? Acropolis is the spot with gyro pitas, chicken pitas, falafel pitas, Athenian pitas, spanakopita, dolmas, and baklava. Vegetarian options are also available.
If Spanish food tickles your fancy, then you need to experience Gerard’s Paella as they’ll be serving sensational paella that combines chicken, sausage, shrimp, and vegetables.
