Perhaps you’re thinking to yourself, “What fun thing can I do in August that combines:
- Fabulous food
- Toe-tapping tunes
- Mighty microbrews
- Wonderful wine
- Hearty hard cider
- Curated crafts
Oh yeah, and there must also be:
- Delightful farm animals
- An amazingly bucolic setting
And, if I’m really aiming for the stars here, I want it to be green and sustainable! Hmmm… Does such a cool event even exist?”
The answer is a resounding, “YES!” That event is called the Gravenstein Apple Fair and it takes place August 13 & 14 at Ragle Ranch Park, in charming Sebastopol, CA.

1) Fabulous Food – Check!

Imagine just about everything tasty you can do with an apple: fried, baked in a pie, barbecued in Mac & Cheese, fresh from the tree – yep, the Fair has all that. Now think about locally sourced produce and meat – the Fair’s got that too.
If you want the best a foodie haven like Sonoma County has to offer, you’ve gotta check out the Fair!
2) Toe-Tapping Music – Check!

There’s a famous saying that “music is food for the soul.” Let your soul feast at the Gravenstein Apple Fair with 24 musical acts who will grace the event’s two main stages, plus an intimate stage in the VIP Lounge, and kids music at Life on the Farm. Every musical genre from Rock, Country, World Music, Reggae, Latin will perform at the Fair. Famous local bands like The Brothers Comatose and The Musers will be featured.
Come get your groove on at the Fair!
3) Mighty Microbrews – Check!

Whether your tastes trend towards a hoppy IPA, a dark stout or a smooth and crisp pilsner, it’s being poured at the Gravenstein Apple Fair. Featuring iconic Sonoma County brands like Henhouse and Seismic, plus a wide array of local microbrews, you’ll find the suds to float your boat at the Fair!
4) Wonderful Wine – Check!

Sonoma County is one of the world’s premier winemaking regions and many of the County’s finest wine makers will be at the Fair. Whether you’re a light Rose sipper or a muscular Cab drinker – or anywhere in between – local winemakers will guide you on your Sonoma County wine tour.
5) Hearty Hard Cider – Check!

Think apples are just for eating? Think again. Hard apple cider is experiencing a Renaissance and the Fair is a fantastic place to find out why. Try ciders from large local brands as well as handcrafted batches from nearby producers.
6) Curated Crafts – Check!

If you’re into lovely flowers, heavenly soaps, unique jewelry or a variety of top-quality items made by Sonoma County artisans, the Fair will help you find the perfect gifts for friends, family, or just for you (self-care is VERY important). Browse the Country Store and other artisan booths to find exactly what you’re looking for. You might even find that item you didn’t know you couldn’t live without.
Pastoral Setting – Check!

Of course, we have everything you would expect from the “sweetest little fair in Sonoma County” including the lovely natural setting of Sebastopol’s Ragle Ranch Park with its majestic oaks and laid-back West County charm.
Cute Farm Animals – Check!

And, because this event is sponsored by Farm Trails – whose North Star is to keep agriculture strong in Sonoma County – there are lots of cute farm animals, Agricultural Games, and demonstrations from local farmers and ranchers, where you can see the art, science and magic of farming come to life.
An Environmentally Sustainable Experience – Check!

An additional perk? This year’s Fair is aiming to be a zero waste, zero emissions event, so you can relax knowing your terrific experience is earth-friendly and sustainable.
