When is a sweet country fair more than meets the eye? When it’s also an amazing music festival! Of course, the Gravenstein Apple Fair is known for delicious food, tasty libations, and cute farm animals. But if you love live music performed by many of the Bay Area’s favorite bands, you can’t beat the Fair!
On August 13 and 14 at Ragle Ranch Park in Sebastopol, 16 stellar acts will perform on two main stages — plus special guest performances at the VIP Lounge and Kids’ music at the Life on the Farm venue — whatever your jam or your groove, you’re covered at the Fair.
Here’s just a taste of the musical feast you’ll find at the Gravenstein Apple Fair:
The Brothers Comatose

Bay Area music fans know and LOVE The Brothers Comatose for their “raucous West Coast renderings of traditional bluegrass, country and rock ‘n’ roll music.” Closing out the Fair on Sunday at 4:30 on the North Coast Organic Stage, you can enjoy a full 90 minutes of The Brothers’ irreverent, get-up-on-your-feet energy, “fierce musicianship and rowdy rock concert-like show.”
Ma Muse

Looking to be inspired (and who isn’t these days?)? Sebastopol favorite, the duo Ma Muse artfully blends folk and gospel traditions to create music that will uplift everyone who hears their joyful sound. Performing at 10:30 am Sunday at the North Coast Organic Stage, come experience the brilliant and haunting harmonies of these two powerful women as they play a family of varied acoustic instruments including upright bass, guitar, mandolins, ukulele and flutes.
LA GENTE SF

LA GENTE SF is bringing an infectious, high energy dance party to the Fair. Their music and live performances deftly combine rhythms, dance and cultural influences from all over Latino America and the Caribbean with a distinct San Francisco flavor. Come join the party with one of San Francisco’s hometown, all-star bands at 3 pm Saturday at the Northern California Public Media Stage. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
King Street Giants

“Jazz washes away the dust of everyday life.” Art Blakey
Sonoma County’s own King Street Giants will sweep you up in their locally inflected version of Traditional New Orleans Jazz. Come listen as they play the music of their heroes – Louis Armstrong & The All Stars, Thelonius Monk and The Preservation Hall Band – as well as their own original compositions on Saturday August 13 at 5 pm on the Northern California Public Media Stage. The King Street Giants radiate good-time vibes and are known for always having a blast.
